Times launch Top 50 Worst Transfer List

The Times has launched a list of the 50 worst transfers in the English Premier League and the top accolade goes to Danish defender Per Kroldrup, who made only one league appearance before returning to Italy.

The Times published a list of the 50 Worst Players in the EPL over the last 30 years only a week ago and have updated the "black list" after announcing a list of 50 worst transfers. The "winner" is former Danish international Per Kroldrup who signed for Everton in 2005 in a deal worth 5 million pounds, but only managed to collect one league appearance before moving back to Udinese. Second place is taken by current Bayern Munich defender Valerien Ismael who went through an abysmal period at Crystal Palace in 1998, while the bronze medal goes to Newcastle's Spaniard Albert Luque.

The highest-profile names on the list which still have a chance to eventually deny the tag are Chelsea's Andriy Shevchenko on the 26th place and Newcastle's Michael Owen, whose season by the sidelines earned him the un-fancy award of being the 40th worst transfer in Premier League.
