Zenit St. Petersburg coach Dick Advocaat has dismissed reports that he is set to abandon the Russian club in order to take over at Australian national team.
The coach of current leaders in Russian Premier League Dick Advocaat has been strongly tipped with a post at Australia national team and was widely expected to seal a move 'down under' when the season in Russia comes to an end. Despite reports from Australia which claim the deal is almost sealed, Advocaat reassured Zenit's fans by saying he has no short-term plans to quit the club: "The Russian championship is in full swing and we are fully concentrated on the fight for the gold medals. Zenit feel public pressure so I wouldn’t like to complicate the situation. That is why I think it is not right time to discuss my possible quit from the club since I am likely to stay in Zenit and achieve success with this team," Advocaat told Sport Express.
