Russian champions CSKA Moscow are interested in making a swoop for last year's Dutch league's top scorer Afonso Alves from Heerenveen.
Russian club, backed by Roman Abramovich's company Sibneft, are ready to make a raid for Heerenveen's Brazilian star Afonso Alves as the coach of the club Valery Gazzaev admits he is a big fan of the striker who scored 34 goals in Dutch Eredivisie last term. Even though CSKA currently have five strikers in their ranks including Brazil international Vagner Love and last year's Russian league top scorer Jo, Gazzaev firmly believes that he could easily make a room for Alves who is tied with Heereveen until 2011.
CSKA Moscow have also expressed their interest in Juventus' young starlet Sebastian Giovinco and are reportedly ready to make a €15m bid for the attacking midfielder.
