Marca reports that Ajax have reached an agreement to sign Newcastle United's Spanish forward Albert Luque.
Albert Luque seems set for a move to the Amsterdam Arena, after negotiations with Spanish club Levante fell through as the two sides could not agree on personal terms. Luque is desperate to return to first team action and Ajax seem a perfect destination, with fellow countrymen Ismael Urzaiz and Gabri already on the Dutch club's books. Luque's spell in England was mostly marked by injuries which kept him out of action for long periods, while the former Deportivo forward is apparently not in new Magpies' coach Sam Allardyce's plans for this season. Neither side has officially confirmed the transfer.
