Reports in The People claim Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner has given a green light to the coach Martin O'Neill to splash out in the winter transfer-window. Martin O'Neill is ready to reinvest money in Porto's international fullback Jose Bosingwa, even though his club placed a massive €15m price tag on him. Aston Villa are to open negotiations with Portuguese champions in January and hope the fee will be reduced to a more reasonable amount.
