German Bundesliga club set a new record, after 18 clubs surpassed the 200 million euros mark for the first time in the history.
German Sports Agency SID said that 18 Bundesliga club spend over 200 million euros on new purchases, while the previous record stood at 147 million euros in 2001. Most of the spending spree is contributed to a complete overhaul of the squad at Bayern Munich, which spend approximately 80 million euros on eight new players. VfL Wolfsburg, who are lead by last year Bayern's coach Felix Magath, came out second with a club-record 30 million euros summer investment.
