Brazilian defender Claudio Cacapa became the 1,000th player to pull on the famous black and white stripes when he made his Magpies' debut against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The 31-year-old was a 90th-minute replacement for skipper Geremi and duly took his place in the club's history books.
And the former Lyon star's only contribution was to head clear a Villa long ball as both teams looked for a winner in the closing stages of the goalless draw.
Cacapa just pipped fellow new boy Jose Enrique to the 1,000th player title, with the Spaniard yet to take his Toon bow since joining Newcastle from Villarreal earlier this month.
