Lazio have quit the intents to sign Argentine goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carizzo from River Plate, after the player failed to gain an Italian passport.
Lazio's attempts to sign highly-rated River Plate's goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carizzo ended in a dismay, as his documentation hit a snag which blocked his proposed move to the Italian capital. Despite the efforts, Carizzo failed to gain Italian citizenship which cancelled the transfer: " "Lazio and River Plate would like to communicate that due to bureaucratic reasons, the agreement of July 18 is now no longer valid. Carrizo will remain property of River Plate until Lazio can sign him," said a statement issued by both sides.
