Pragmatic chairman of Mexican club Chivas Guadalajara Jorge Vergara is planning to branch out Chivas mark to the People's Republic of China.
Jorge Vergara has been planning to open a new "franchize" of the club in the Far East and has reportedly targeted South Korea as his primary objective. After talks with Korean businessmen appear to be on the stall, Vergara turned his efforts to China and is reportedly set to make an official presentation in the city of Hefei in the coming days: "Chinese football is in rapid development, due to the massive potential fanbase and economical progress of the country. We believe Chinese football is on a road to success. We also admire Chinese infrastructure which already fits the criteria that a strong Championship would need to have and we believe Chivas China could be an interesting stimulant to Chinese football," said Chivas's sporting director Juan Jose Frangie.
