Brazilian fullback Cicinho is set to join Roma, after the Italian club finally reached an agreement with Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Real Madrid confirmed the transfer: "Real Madrid announce that they have reached an agreement for the transfer of Cicero Joao de Cezare 'Cicinho' to AS Roma. The club wish to thank the player for his services and wish him the best of luck for the future," said a statement on Real Madrid's official website. The 27-year-old Brazilian, who moved to Spain in 2005, became surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer and had been longing for a Roma move for several few weeks. The Madrid giants failed in an attempt to off-load Cicinho as part of the deal to bring Daniel Alves from Sevilla, and concluded the transfer of the Brazilian international defender in a deal which is reportedly worth 8.5 million euros.
