Marseille have confirmed the capture of Dutch winger Boudewijn Zenden and claimed that they have "agreed in principle" to sign striker Djibril Cisse.
Marseille have signed Dutch winger Boudewijn Zenden, who was released by the Reds at the conclusion of last season. Zenden signed a two year contract with the southern French club and is likely to be joined by French striker Djibril Cisse, who spent last season on loan from Liverpool. The 25-year-old former Ligue 1 top scorer is close to a move to Marseille on a permanent basis and could complete his move by the end of the week: "The Marseille option is the best choice for Djibril because of the Champions League. 'West Ham, Bolton and Portsmouth I understand are very, very good clubs but Djibril wants to play in the top level of European competition next season," said Cisse's agent Ranko Stojić.
The transfer fee for the explosive striker remains undisclosed, although Liverpool will not recoup most of the money for his transfer in 2004, when Cisse joined the Reds from Auxerre for a then club record fee of 14 million pounds.
