Guiza refuses Russia switch, opts for Deportivo

Getafe's forward and top scorer Daniel Guiza refused to accept a proposal by Russian club Rubin Kazan and prefers a move to Liga rivals Deportivo La Coruna.

Getafe's top scorer Daniel Guiza was linked with a switch to Rubin Kazan after both clubs had already agreed on a transfer fee estimated at €4.5m. The Spaniard refused a move to Russia and has even reaffirmed his situation following a conversation with his former Getafe team mate Veljko Paunović who left Spain for Kazan last summer. Getafe were hoping to seal a deal with Russians, as it is believed that no interested Spanish side could afford an offer of that range.

Guiza, who was called up to the Spanish national team last term, prefers a switch to Deportivo la Coruna where he would team up with Riki with whom he enjoyed a fruitful attacking partnership at Getafe two seasons ago.
