Lazio are set to bolster their ranks with Sweden international defender Daniel Majstorovic, who is expected to land in Rome in January.
30-year old Basel defender was minutes away from clinching a move to Lazio during the summer, but despite the fact that negotiations failed to produce concrete results, his move to Italy seems a done deal: "I think Lazio are a great club with an important history and I would really like to wear their jersey," the Swede told Corriere dello Sport.
Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito, however, has warned Basel that is not going to meet their €1m demands for the defender, as his contract runs out next summer.
Majstorovic has been the chief of Basel's backline in recent years and has been extremely efficient also on the other half of pitch scoring 6 goals in Swiss league last term.
