Aragones calls Espanyol's trio

Spain coach Luis Aragones has awarded Espanyol's players for fine performances in the Spanish La Liga by giving call-ups to Raul Tamudo, Albert Riera and Luis Garcia.

Espanyol haven't had three players in the national team since 1978 which makes the Spain's list for upcoming EURO 2008 qualifier against Denmark a very historical day for the Catalan based club. Midfielders Luis Garcia and Albert Riera were given initial call-ups, while striker Raul Tamudo was called up after Valencia's forward David Villa suffered an injury and will be out of action for the next three weeks.

Tamudo said: "I am very happy because it has been a lot of time since I was last in. The only thing I lament is that it will be to replace an injured team-mate, but I am happy for the three of us who come from Espanyol, which is a reflection of the good work of the whole squad."

Spain squad:

Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Jose Manuel Reina (Liverpool)

Defenders: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Raul Albiol, Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Pablo, Mariano Pernia (Atletico Madrid), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Carles Puyol (Barcelona)

Midfielders: Francesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), David Silva, David Albelda, Joaquin Sanchez (Valencia), Albert Riera (Espanyol).

Strikers: Raul Tamudo (Espanyol), Miguel Angel Angulo (Valencia), Fernando Torres (Liverpool), Luis Garcia (Espanyol)
