Wigan announced the fourth summer signing after Helsingborgs Swedish international defender Andreas Granqvist agreed on a two-year deal.
22-year old defender was on loan at Wigan from January 2007, but only made one outing for the club. Despite his limited time in the first team, Wigan manager Chris Hutchings decided to sign the player on a permanent basis, since many clubs inquired about the Swedish international, who made his debut for the national team last year. Hutchings told the Wigan's official site: "There was a lot of interest in Andreas. That's why I wanted to get this done quickly. He has bags of potential and the ability to make a real impact"
1.92m tall defender who has signed for Wigan for a fee rumoured to be €1.1m is the fourth summer signing and will join fellow arrivals Titus Bramble, Antonine Sibierski (both Newcastle United) and Dutch defender Mario Melchiot, who agreed to join Wigan from French side Rennes
