Champions League hero Filippo Inzaghi rejected an offer by MLS team New York Red Bulls as he wants to finish his career at AC Milan.
Inzaghi is yet another high-profile European name that was approached by an MLS club, but the 34-year old Italian forward has decided to end his career at San Siro: "I received a very interesting offer from New York. It’s an amazing city where there are many Italians. Furthermore, I would have had the possibility of challenging David Beckham and his LA Galaxy team and they would have covered me in gold. However, I had no doubts whatsoever. I will end my career in the Milan shirt, which has become a second skin for me," said Inzaghi.
It is questionable how much Inzaghi's peculiar skills would impress American fans, as many would doubt his role as an ambassador of the game in rapidly developing American football.
