Premiership side Liverpool and Italian giants Juventus both are hunting for the signature of the VFB Stuttgart defender Fernando Meira.
According to the Portuguese international defender's agent, Roger Wittman, the player could leave for either Liverpool or Juventus this summer. Wittman says:
"As soon as the player is on the transfer list, everything will happen very fast. There is always interest in a player with his qualities.
Wittman also added that both Liverpool and Juventus have called up on the Stuttgart captain.
DARREN (5. July 2008)buy him
AussieRed (5. July 2008)Why would Liverpool go after a centre back? Because our defense was probably our weakest part last season. We don't need a centre midfielder, we have Stevie G, Mascherano, Lucas, Xabi hasn't gone yet, and Plessis coming through the ranks. Yes, we need a winger, but we need a covering CB too, because look at what happened last season? Agger got injured and Sami had to fill in, which he is getting older and can't do to that level. And what if Carra or Skrtel get injured as well? We need the cover.
WRIGHTY (5. July 2008)why would liverpool go after a centre back!!! we need a goalie (Diego Cavalieri) full backs (Philipp Degen,Andrea Dossena) centre midfeilder (barry) and a winger, may be a forward but centre back is covered
