Because Croatia is not in EU, Ivica Olić is considering taking German passport to avoid being foreigner in EU clubs.

A Croatian internationa striker, currently contracted with Hambourg is considering applying for German citizenship, to avoid being foreigner in European clubs as Croatia doesn't seem to be close to joining EU. "I could get a German passport in six months, but I must think about all the positive and negative sides to this matter" said Gordon Stipić, advisor of Ivica Olić. German media are reporting that Olić is eligible to apply for German citizenship, because his wife Natali is born in Berlin and both his children have German passports.
