Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo shall undergo an operation on his ankle later on Monday in the Dutch city of Amstersdam.
Ronaldo, severely linked with a move to Real Madrid in Spain this summer, shall undergo the surgery to wipe off a long running problem. He flew out to Amsterdam last night after a few days of holidaying in Italy.
Johan Kortenray, the press spokesman for the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam, told French newspaper L'Equipe: "He should be operated on this morning or maybe at the moment as we speak, I'm not sure exactly. He arrived here yesterday evening to be examined. He'll be able to return home tomorrow."
