Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo is set to undergo an ankle surgery next week.
The 23-year old Portuguese international winer has long been suffering from an ankle problem and shall undergo the operation next week.
This shall keep him out of action for the next six weeks, which implies that should Ronaldo choose to stay on at Old Trafford beyond the summer, he shall have to miss the start of next season.
A statement from the Old trafford club confirmed:
"Manchester United's medical staff met with the medical team from the Portuguese FA and Cristiano Ronaldo in Lisbon regarding the ongoing treatment of his injured right ankle.
"As a result, further specialist advice is being sought and an announcement will be made on any action in due course."
