Rangers defender Sasa Papac revealed he spent hours of studying Lionel Messi's moves before the Champions League clash against Barcelona.
Bosnian defender Sasa Papac was in excellent form during the Champions League clash against Barcelona at Ibrox Park and turned out as one of the few who managed to stop Barcelona's star Lionel Messi. Papac was delighted with his marking, but revealed he was preparing to confront Messi days before the match: "I couldn't sleep because of him. I was playing the tapes and carefully studied all his moves. Now that the match is over, I could say this was definitely one of his worst matches this season. I knew it is extremely important that I don’t' lose a spot on him, because a player of this kind should never be given too much space. I had some luck, even though he managed to trick me on two occasions," said unrelenting Papac.
Papac believes the return match at Ibrox Park could be easier from Rangers' perspective: "I think the return match might be easier for us, because there will be no pressure on us. There will be more space for counter-attacks. It's hard to predict anything, but I can assure you we won't get hammered!"
