Uefa registered a Euro championship qualifier between Denmark and Sweden as 3-0 win for the Swedes, after the match was abandoned when a furious spectator attacked the referee.

Scandinavian clash between Denmark and Sweden in Copenhagen was locked at 3-3 with 89 minutes gone when a fan attacked the referee Herbert Fandel after he awarded a penalty in Sweden's favour. Thrilling match that saw Denmark return to the game after being three goals behind will also severely hamper Danish chances as they collected 11 points from 6 matches, and trail group leaders Sweden (with one game in hand) by 6 points. Denmark have also been fined £41,000 and must play their next four home games at least 250km away from Copenhagen.

The brawl started when Fandel sent off Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen and awarded a penalty kick for Sweden. Moments after his call drunken fan invaded the pitch with several Danish players intercepting the supporter before he could reach the referee. Yet unidentified fan apologized for his outburst: "It was incredibly stupid of me. "I want to apologize to Denmark, Sweden and the referee for my inhuman behavior," he said after alcohol levels in his blood reached normal standards again.
