Another of the newer Scottish stadiums, 1996 saw the opening of this home for the relatively new club, an amalgamation from two local sides.
Controversy erupted when Inverness Caledonian Thistle reached the SPL, officials claiming their ground had insufficient capacity to accommodate matches, necessitating a ground-share with Aberdeen FC. Since 2005 this has not been a problem, and the stadium record of 7,512 was set in a league match against Rangers FC.
The addition of the name ‘Tulloch’ to the stadium reflects the financial contribution made by the building firm, and makes it the only ground in the SPL with such a corporate prefix.
