Tynecastle Stadium

Capacity: 17,420

Home to Heart of Midlothian, Tynecastle is located in the West end of Scotland’s capital city, not far from Murrayfield Stadium, home to Scottish rugby.

Opened in 1886, the stadium has witnessed much change over the years, and even today the rumours persist that the club’s owners will sell the land and move to another site in Edinburgh. 1994-1997 saw Tynecastle renovation to comply with the Taylor recommendations on all-seated stadiums, and the capacity has been steadily in decline for many years. A tight, sometimes noisy stadium, Tynecastle often held domestic cup semi-finals before the central association decided to play all such ties at Hampden Park.
