Details:
The Eintracht in Eintracht Frankfurt means United. Merged with Frankfurter Kickers in 1911 resulting in a name change. Another merger, this time with Frankfurter Turngemeinde von 1861, resulted in another name change in 1920. The merger split in 1927, with the original club being renamed Sportgemeinde Eintracht Frankfurt (FFV) von 1899. A third merger in 1968 with Turn- und Fechtgemeinde Eintracht Frankfurt von 1861 gave birth to the present incarnation, Eintracht Frankfurt.
