Details:

Marseille's club motto is 'Droit au But' (Straight to Goal). The nickname l'équipe Phocéenne is a reference to Phocea, an ancient Greek city from which Marseille's founders hailed. The Stade Vélodrome is so-named because it was initially the location of cycling races. The cycling track was later replaced by terraces. Previous stadiums - Huveaune.
